Seamoss is an edible algae that is packed with micronutrients. It is known as one of the top superfoods all over the world and provides a remarkable amount of health benefits. While seamoss can treat and prevent many health conditions, introducing a new food into your diet should come with awareness of what you are consuming.

Although seamoss is safe and encouraged to be consumed for most, there are people with health conditions who should limit or not consume seamoss. Seamoss contains Iodine and Arginine, which may present some side effects for certain people.

Iodine is an essential mineral found in table salt, seafood and some packaged breads.

Seamoss can have positive effects for people with an iodine deficiency or under-active thyroid but can have negative effects on a hyper or overactive thyroid.

Arginine is an amino acid found in seamoss and is naturally made by the body. It is prevalent in foods like flaxseed, sunflower seeds, chocolate, spinach, nuts and whole grains. High amounts of Arginine consumption can trigger flare-ups for people with herpes.

Seamoss contains many of the same minerals and health benefits of foods with anticancer properties. Studies suggest that it may help prevent cancer, slow cancer cell progression and treat symptoms. A doctor should always be consulted when introducing new foods or supplements to your diet if you have a history of cancer.

Evidence also suggests that sea moss may have potent anticoagulant or blood-thinning properties. You should consult your doctor if you're already taking blood-thinning medication.

Although everyone is responsible for knowing what they put in or on their body, a product as exceptionally nutritious as seamoss can lead to oversight. At Mr.Moss, I feel it is my duty to keep my clients properly informed and updated.

Thank you,

Mr.Moss
